Philippe Ortega débute sa carrière en 1992 en Espagne. Dans les années 90, il collabore à de nombreux évènements de la scène underground techno.
En 2004, il s’expatrie en Chine, à Shanghai. Il est l’un des initiateurs du succès considérable du très tendance “Bar Rouge”, à l’époque sous le consulting de J&L Pourcel. Le Bar Rouge fut classé en 2006 deuxième “meilleur bar du monde” par le célèbre guide “Condenast Travel Guide”, et il est depuis son ouverture classé N°1 à Shanghai. Autant dire que la renommée de Philippe Ortega dans la mégapole fut très vite construite. Cette collaboration avec les chefs étoilés montpelliérains et le mixologiste Sebastien Bonnefoi aboutira à la réalisation du livre “Insensé” (Editions Solar), consacré au monde de la nuit et du cocktail.
Son expérience chinoise lui fit partager les platines avec les plus grands : Laurent Garnier, Kenny Dope, Derrick May, Gilles Peterson… Ainsi que David Guetta, Bob Sinclar, Antoine Clamaran dans un registre plus “commercial”.
Grâce à son large éventail musical, Louis Vuitton lui confia en 2006 les platines de son Grand Opening à Taïwan. Grand ami de la marque Smuggler, il réalise sa compilation anniversaire Deep House : “30 déjà”. Aux J.O. de Pékin, il est le DJ de la délégation française.
De 2009 à 2011 (Shanghai) il est successivement DJ & Directeur Artistique du Super-Club “SIN” puis de “Pavillon by Costes” (by Hôtel Costes Paris).En collaboration avec DJ Herald, il produit 3 EP sur les compilations SMS (Shanghai Music Society) : “Binôme”, “Offline” et “Waiting for it”.De retour en France, il renoue avec la scène underground et, avec le label “Moovment”, il est en charge du booking artistique des festivals High Tech Trinity à Shanghai (Mercedes Benz Arena) où se sont produits entre autres : Gui Boratto, Marc Ramboy, Booka Shade, Funk D’Void, etc…
Fin 2012, Philippe Ortega pose ses valises à Nouméa (Nouvelle Calédonie) où il entame une nouvelle collaboration avec la structure Royal Pacific Events et devient leur DJ ambassadeur.
De retour en France, on a pu le voir jouer cet dans des festivals tels que “Family Piknik”, ou sur des plages privées de la côte, et très récemment au Bar Rouge de Shanghai pour leur dixième anniversaire.

This collaboration with the two chefs of Montpellier and mixologist Sebastien Bonnefoi lead to the realization of the book "Fool" (Solar Editions), dedicated to the world of the night and cocktails.
His Chinese experience made him share the decks with the greatest: Laurent Garnier, Kenny Dope, Derrick May, Gilles Peterson ... And David Guetta, Bob Sinclar, Antoine Clamaran in a register more "commercial".
With a wide range of music, Louis Vuitton in 2006 gave him the decks of its Grand Opening in Taiwan. Great friend of the Smuggler brand, he made his anniversary compilation Deep House "30 already." He is the DJ of the French delegation at Olympic Games in Beijing.
From 2009 to 2011 (Shanghai) is successively DJ & Artistic Director of Super Club "INS" and then "Pavilion by Costes" (by Hôtel Costes Paris).

End of 2012, Philippe Ortega puts his suitcases in Noumea (New Caledonia), where he began a new collaboration with the Royal Pacific Events and becomes their ambassador DJ.
Back in France, we have seen him in festivals such as "Family Piknik" or on private beaches of the french coast, and most recently at Bar Rouge Shanghai for their tenth anniversary.
